Why invest in Morocco?

  • Easyjet and Ryanair, amongst others, are already flying into Morocco
In order to facilitate the increase in tourism an EU Open Skies Agreement was signed in Marrakech on 14th December 2005 which lifts all limitations for airlines both in the EU and Morocco, therefore enabling cheap and easy access to Morocco. Easyjet was the first airline to operate to Morocco under the new agreement when it started flights from London Gatwick to Marrakech in July 2006. Ryanair signed a five year agreement with the Moroccan government to develop low cost air access and tourism to most of the regional airports in Morocco from several locations across Europe. By the end of the five year period Ryanair will have developed up to twenty new routes, delivering almost 1 million passengers per year. To avail of this new agreement, a new low-cost airline was launched in Morocco in March 2006 called ‘Jet4You’, bringing with it a wider choice of low fares. Morocco is easy to get to nowadays making it more desirable as a tourist destination.
