Why invest in Morocco?
- Investment from companies such as Nokia, IBM and Dell is pushing the potential capital growth between 15% and 30%
The Moroccan government views foreign direct investment favourably and it is taking immense steps to attract investment in order to help improve the economy. Over recent years foreign direct investment in Morocco has been on the increase with companies such as Nokia and Dell strengthening their global position by opening new offices in Morocco. Several major British companies are currently working in Morocco such as British Airways, Shell, Marks and Spencers, Unilever and GlaxoSmithKline. Research carried out by the European University Institute showed that the sector that received the largest amount of foreign direct investment in Morocco in 2004 was Property, followed closely by Industry, Banking and Tourism. The overall investment is undoubtedly helping to drive up the potential capital growth gains in Morocco, conservatively placed at 15% and 30%.
