Since realising the country’s massive and largely unexploited potential for tourism and growth, the Brazilian government has begun to promote Brazil as a place to come both for tourists and investors. The Government’s commitment to opening up the country for tourism can be seen with the upgrading of several new airports to international status. In addition there is further investment in new roads and general infrastructure.

As a country it has a huge amount to offer yet is often overlooked as a tourist destination. There are over 7000 kilometres of amazing coastline and some truly spectacular nature reserves. The cities are vibrant & exciting and the people polite, friendly and helpful. The sun shines virtually twelve months of the year and there are no wars, earthquakes, hurricanes or tidal waves that occur in other parts of the world. Also, the cost of living is lower than in the UK and Ireland which allows visiting Europeans to lead a truly relaxing and luxurious lifestyle.

The graph shows that Brazil is currently better known amongst Argentineans, Portuguese, Spanish and other South American tourists however, this proportion is set to change in the future as more and more tourists from the UK, Scandinavia and North America visit the country. Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in Brazil with an increasing number of international tourists seriously considering Brazil as their holiday destination.
